Gold's Gym Xpress at Intercon

It's Gold's Gym's new branch. I think it used to be Red Corner fitness gym. I've heard about this branch from one of the forums im in. Since i workout at Glorietta branch might as well try it since it's nearer to EDSA mas madali for me to commute.
Last night I did pay a visit to this branch. It's at the ground floor of the hotel. I was expecting a branch of the same size but it was a lot smaller than their usual branches, even the towel counter was smaller, hehe. First the lockers, it's ok. Approximately there are lockers good for less than 30 persons but i think the actual space can't accomodate if there are actually 30 people working out at the same time. There is one sauna, 2 urinal , 1 toilet (i think), and about 4 or 5 shower cubicles. Fortunately for me there were 4 of us last night - definitely not crowded. It's clean so far so like it.
As for the gym equipment, it's lesser and a bit different (older) from their usual branch, good thing we were only 8 people woking out that time so i wouldn't have to wait my turn on some of the equipment. The workout area is smaller my guess is it's only as big as the dance/class studio at Glorietta (that small huh).
Over all the gym is adequate for a small group of people. It's clean and the equiptment are functioning. The only plus is the free use of the hotel pool. I will go back again to this branch, eto kasi pinakamalapit at pinaka less crowded, hehe -but before i enter tatanungin ko muna sa reception if pang ilang guy na ako to enter..if more than 10 na then i think i'll opt for Galleria branch na lang =)

Anawangin Zambales

I have a new picture posted and it's from my Anawangin trip with my backpacking friends. I was one great summer adventure. I was invited by Leo and I was so excited to go. I love beaches, it's summer ...what's the reason not to go?...
We were to suppose to take a very early morning trip around 5:30 AM so i took a cab from Pasay to Cubao Victory station. I was the last one to arrive...very unlikely that everybody is in. the group is from Sun cellular, my previuos company so most of the guys are familiar with me already. The first trip was cancelled so we took the second, then there was this unusual traffic in the expressway, then we transferred bus from olongapo to IBA bound bus on our way to San Antonio. Whew, it was one LONG trip! A side trip to the market and we were on our way to the cove.
The trip was worth it. It's like paradise! I was epectecting an island but is was actually an cove; the island was canpones island - which we visited the following day. Although there are lot's of campers there are still plenty of space to camp. The shore was lined with pine tress - yes, pine trees not palm trees. The sand is not powdery white but grainy white and black. At campsite there were more pinetrees, you can here the wind passing through them.
In the afternoon we explored the area, i was excited to see the swamp - like formation just right beside the beach. Very nice view, clear warm shallow water surrounded by rows of pine trees - just like the ones you see in post cards.
Definitely a place worth coming back to.

The pictures at the side of my blog page are taken from the places that i've been recently - places i've been with a camera on hand that is... The picture in my header and footer is from my travel adventure in Mt. Pulag , it was one of the longest, and most difficult climb i had - but i had a great time with my friends - both old and new.

i like travelling, although my job does not permit me to have enough time i still try to go to places every now and then within the philippines.

Missing the Mountains

it's lunchbreak - time to browse friendster! hmmm whaHH! what's this new photo's of some of my mt climbing buddies...they've been climbing recently...shucks...sana na inform ako. I miss my mt climbing days; not to mention i'm totally out of shape.... kailangan ko na ulit ng isang matinding workout to get me back on track and climbing would be just perfect.

I remember my first time to climb, it was Gulugod baboy in Batangas. It was very tiring, not to mention dehydrating - there's no water source so we had to carry in our packs around 2 litters of water + trail water. It was a good first time, when you reach the top - tanggal pagod mo , the view is just spectacular, the bond you form with your buddies are memorable and worth keeping, the memories- priceless.

I can't find my pictures from my first climb, the picture above is from my climb in Pulag. This is Leo by the way, my good old friend who is instrumental for the development of my love for mountains.
We usually trek in groups or pairs ;while trekking you should always have a buddy with you - that's a rule of the thumb. I just love how this picture came out, I think I should consider photography as one of my hobbies...
